“Stroller” White was one of the many writers who followed the Klondike Gold Rush between 1897 and 1900, and one of the few who remained in the territory when the gold was gone. He wrote for and/or owned several newspapers in the Yukon and in Alaska and may have been the first “columnist” in the northland. “The Stroller” column appeared as early as 1900 in the Klondike Nugget of Dawson and continued for 30 years. This appealing book features columns he wrote about the Klondike Gold Rush – fact, fiction and fantasy written many years after the event.
