From raindrops to rivers and snowflakes to glaciers, Water is surprised to learn all the many forms it can take through the seasons. Hello, Water! is a story of discovery and transformation as Water changes along its journey through the Kenai Mountains-Turnagain Arm National Heritage Area. Each illustration features three characters Water, Raven, and an iconic Alaska bush plane. (Can you find them?) Included is a kid-friendly map of the National Heritage Area. Hello Water! will capture the kids imaginations as it reflects the beauty of Alaska through the cycle of water. Taylor Hoku Hayden was nine years old when she first visited Portage Glacier, Alaska. She remembers watching icebergs calve off the face of the glacier which at that time could still be seen from the visitor center. She is an air traffic controller by profession, a mother of two, and spends her time between Alaska and her current assignment in Hawaii. Illustrator Molly Taylor grew up in Nome, Alaska, and as a girl enjoyed very few boundaries. She says her inspiration is still informed by her early years of creative freedom. Molly is a graphic designer by profession, a mother of two, and lives in Anchorage, Alaska.
