Day of Disaster: The Great Alaska Earthquake of 1964

March 27, 1964, Good Friday, was like any normal day until a silent underground force broke loose, inflicting destruction over thousands of square miles in Alaska and resounding throughout the earth. The resulting cataclysmic event became known as the Good Friday or Great Alaska Earthquake of 1964. Much has been written about this historic event, mostly in scientific reports and in collections of individual memories. This is the first book that covers both the scientific aspects and the personal experiences in an inclusive manner, presented in a form intended for the general public as well as academic persons.
